VP of Finance / Head of Finance
SWAG42 — a fast-growing international premium merchandise company — is looking for a VP of Finance / Head of Finance to lay the groundwork for its next chapter. Reporting directly to the CEO, you’ll take full ownership of financial operations across multiple jurisdictions, including accounting, compliance, and strategic reporting. You’ll build and scale the finance function with a focus on integrity, efficiency, and business impact — designing processes from the ground up and ensuring finance supports, rather than slows down, the company’s momentum. We operate internationally, value precision over paperwork, and expect our finance leader to combine operational excellence with strategic clarity. If this aligns with your experience and ambition, we’d welcome your application.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead full-cycle financial management and build a scalable finance function: accounting, controlling, tax compliance, and financial reporting (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
- Set up and maintain internal finance processes, policies, and controls to ensure transparency, discipline, and accuracy across all financial operations.
- Ensure proper bookkeeping and financial data integrity in Odoo.
- Oversee payments, treasury operations, and cash management in Poland and the US; maintain banking relationships and payment compliance.
- Drive budgeting, cash-flow planning, and rolling forecasts; perform variance analysis and track cost discipline across teams.
- Act as a strategic finance partner to the CEO — provide financial insights, scenario planning, and decision support for sustainable and efficient growth.
- Work closely with revenue (RevOps) and commercial teams to validate pipeline assumptions, revenue recognition, forecast accuracy, and GTM efficiency.
- Improve and automate finance tools, CRM/ERP integrations, and reporting infrastructure for real-time operational visibility.
- Handle investor relations and fundraising support when required: prepare models, manage cap tables, debt agreements, and assist in due diligence — with a priority on financial rigor and internal order over fundraising activity.
Requirements
- 7+ years of progressive experience in finance, with at least 3–5 years in a strategic, hands-on role (e.g., Finance Manager, Head of Finance, or CFO) in a fast-growing international company.
- Proven track record of building or scaling a finance function from the ground up — including accounting, controlling, tax compliance, and financial reporting under both local (Polish) and international standards (IFRS/US GAAP).
- Strong expertise in ERP systems, with hands-on experience in Odoo (or ability to quickly master it); deep understanding of chart of accounts design, intercompany flows, and data integrity principles.
- Solid experience managing multi-currency treasury operations, cross-border payments, banking relationships, and compliance in Poland and the US.
- Demonstrated ability to act as a trusted strategic partner to executive leadership — translating financial data into actionable insights, supporting scenario planning, and driving capital-efficient growth.
- Proficiency in financial modeling, budgeting, rolling forecasts, variance analysis, and cost control across departments.
- Experience collaborating closely with RevOps, Sales, and Marketing teams on revenue forecasting, pipeline validation, and GTM efficiency metrics.
- Familiarity with investor communications, cap table management, debt instruments, and due diligence processes — with a strong bias toward operational discipline over fundraising hype.
- Fluency in English and Russian (written and spoken) — you’ll work daily with international stakeholders. Polish is a plus but not required.
